Welcome to The Spy Hunter newsletter!

In this week’s edition:

  • Taiwan investigates 11 Chinese tech companies, including SMIC, for allegedly using offshore entities to illegally recruit Taiwanese semiconductor engineers.

A high-tech chip manufacturing clean room filled with advanced equipment and bright white lighting. In the center, an engineer in a full cleanroom suit (white coveralls, face mask, goggles) is focused on inspecting a semiconductor wafer. In the corner of the room, an industrial spy wearing a dark, sleek outfit and partially hidden behind a machine is subtly trying to get the engineer's attention with a small, secretive gesture. The spy appears suspicious, holding a small device or microchip. The atmosphere is tense and secretive, with strong contrasts between the sterile environment and the shady spy.
